  17.             PC-VT is a software emulator which makes the IBM-PC function as
  18.           a DEC VT102 or a VT100 Video Terminal.   Version  3.0  includes a
  19.           Hayes compatible  dialer and phone number directory.  Version 4.0
  20.           includes  many  user suggested improvements.  Version  5.0  added
  21.           XMODEM (CRC capable) support.  Version 6.0 added DOS  2 path name
  22.           support for file upload and download.   Version  7.0  added  VT52
  23.           emulation as a subset of the VT100 mode of operation.  The latest
  24.           version of PC-VT runs on the PC and the PCjr.

  26.             -  Here is a brief list of the functions handled by PC-VT.

  28.                  *  Communication  over an RS232 port configured as  either
  29.                     COM1 or COM2.
  30.  
  31.                  *  Communications support for all of the popular baud rate
  32.                     and data bit/parity bit combinations.

  34.                  *  Full Duplex with no EIA modem control.  Only data leads
  35.                     have to be connected (FDX A mode).   Suitable  for  use
  36.                     with  a  null  modem  (direct) connection to  the  host
  37.                     computer or with a modem which does not  require  modem
  38.                     control signals.  PC-VT does send DSR and RTS.
  39.  
  40.                  *  Support  for  Hayes  dialing commands  and  includes  a
  41.                     Dialing Directory with 10 entries.

  43.                  *  Support of ALT-F1 thru ALT-F10 as Macro keys.

  45.                  *  Support of environment string  'PC-VT=' for finding the
  46.                     location of the parameter files.

  104.                     duplex modes (FDX B and FDX C).

  107.                     communications modes.

  109.                  *  Test and Adjustments Escape sequences.

  111.                  *  Certain  display  attribute  handling  for  normal  and
  112.                     reverse video.   The  IBM-PC  does  not  handle reverse
  113.                     video (black on white) the same way as the VT100/102.

  115.                  *  Functions with no IBM-PC hardware such as Smooth Scroll
  116.                     mode,  132 column mode, Alternate Character ROM  modes,
  117.                     and double height character modes.

  142.             Anyone may request  a  copy  of  a  user-supported  program  by
  143.           sending a blank double sided double density,  formatted  disk  to
  144.           the author of the program.   An  addressed,  postage-paid  return
  145.           mailer must accompany the disk (no exceptions, please).   A  copy
  146.           of the  program,  with documentation on the disk, will be sent by
  147.           return mail.  The  program  will  carry  a  notice  suggesting  a
  148.           contribution to the  program's  author.  Making a contribution is
  149.           completely voluntary on the part of each user.
